KYC/AML Policy
AML/KYC Policy
Masons Exchange strives to provide a safe and reliable platform for all users. We adhere to strict anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) standards. This policy defines risk assessment procedures, customer verification (KYC), source of funds / source of wealth confirmation (SoF / SoW), and transaction monitoring procedures in order to protect the platform from illegal financial activity.
1. General Provisions
Masons Exchange prioritizes user security and the financial safety of the platform. Our AML/KYC program is aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with applicable compliance requirements.
By using the Masons Exchange service, the user confirms agreement to comply with this policy, provide accurate information, and, where necessary, undergo additional verification procedures.
2. Transaction and Address Screening
Masons Exchange performs mandatory AML screening of incoming and outgoing cryptocurrency transactions, as well as addresses involved in an exchange.
All cryptocurrency transactions are automatically checked using the AML analyzer BitOK.
As part of this review, the service applies a risk-based approach and assesses each transaction using a Risk Score model based on data from the AML analyzer used by the service. The results of such screening are used to make decisions regarding exchange processing, additional customer verification, requests for source of funds confirmation (SoF), or refunds.
Depending on the risk level, a transaction may be:
— processed in the standard mode;
— temporarily suspended for additional review;
— referred for KYC / SoF procedures;
— rejected with a subsequent refund in accordance with this policy.
Masons Exchange reserves the right to temporarily block the execution of an exchange for AML control purposes if the transaction risk level exceeds the established internal acceptable threshold or if additional indicators of suspicious activity are identified.
The user acknowledges and agrees that, before creating an order, they must independently ensure the legitimacy of the origin of the funds being sent. Where necessary, the service may provide the option of a preliminary AML check of an address or transaction through available risk assessment tools.
Please make sure that the address is not associated with suspicious transactions in order to avoid possible risks. You can check the address yourself on this cryptocurrency address AML screening page:

3. Risk Assessment Model
3.1. Risk Factors
Risk Score is formed on the basis of analysis of the following factors:
— links to sanctioned addresses;
— links to darknet marketplaces;
— use of mixers and tumblers;
— links to fraudulent schemes;
— links to ransomware activity;
— links to stolen funds;
— links to high-risk jurisdictions;
— suspicious transaction patterns.
3.2. Thresholds and Actions
— 0–20% (low risk) — automatic processing;
— 20–69% (medium risk) — manual review, KYC may be requested;
— 70–84% (high risk) — suspension of the operation, mandatory KYC and source of funds / source of wealth confirmation (SoF / SoW);
— 85–100% (critical risk) — refusal to process the transaction and refund of funds.
Masons Exchange reserves the right to request documents and additional information at any risk level if additional suspicious factors are present.
4. KYC Procedure
To access Masons Exchange services, users undergo a secure and simplified registration procedure, including the provision of basic information required for identity verification.
In certain cases, Masons Exchange may require enhanced verification. Depending on the situation, the following may be requested:
— passport / ID card / driver’s license;
— selfie with the document;
— proof of residence address (not older than 3 months);
— video verification.
Enhanced verification may apply, in particular, where the source of funds remains unclear or there is a personal connection with a suspicious sender. In such cases, additional verification measures are used as an extra layer of protection against potential misuse of the platform.
5. Source of Funds / Source of Wealth Confirmation (SoF / SoW)
Where the risk level is elevated, Masons Exchange may request proof of the origin of the funds. Depending on the situation, the following may be requested:
— screenshot of withdrawal from an exchange;
— trading history;
— proof of wallet ownership;
— explanation of the origin of the funds;
— documents confirming income.
Failure to provide information, refusal to cooperate, or provision of false information may lead to refusal of service, freezing of funds, or other measures under this policy.
6. Transparency and Cooperation
By using Masons Exchange services, the user agrees to fully cooperate with the platform’s security measures. This includes providing complete, truthful, current, and accurate information about the origin of funds, especially in cases where an order is suspended or additional information is requested. The user bears full responsibility for the accuracy and reliability of the provided information. Honesty and transparency are basic conditions of a secure financial ecosystem.
7. Review Procedure and Timeframes
— automatic AML screening — instant;
— manual review — up to 72 hours;
— deadline to provide requested documents — up to 5 business days, excluding weekends;
— final decision — up to 7 business days after receipt of all required documents.
If the requested documents or information are not provided within the established period, the operation may be cancelled. Masons Exchange also reserves the right to retain funds for the duration of the investigation for as long as necessary if they pose a risk to the platform.
8. Information Requests, Freezing of Funds, and Cooperation with Authorities
If the information provided by the user indicates possible criminal activity or gives rise to reasonable suspicion, Masons Exchange has the right to temporarily freeze the funds and request additional information. In such cases, Masons Exchange may cooperate with law enforcement agencies and other competent authorities for the purpose of protecting the lawful owners of funds and countering financial crime.
9. Refund Terms in AML Cases
If, based on the results of the review, the transaction cannot be processed, Masons Exchange has the right to issue a refund to the sender.
The following conditions apply:
— if the funds are associated with sanctions or financial crimes, a fee of 5% is retained, but not exceeding the threshold of 100 USD (equivalent), to facilitate the possible withdrawal of such funds;
— if the funds are associated with gambling, a fee of 5% is retained to facilitate their final withdrawal;
— in the event of successful completion of KYC and absence of evidence of illegal origin of funds, only the actual network fee and/or mandatory refund costs are retained;
— Masons Exchange does not process high-risk funds for an additional fee.
10. Use of Cryptocurrency Addresses
A unique address may be used for each order. All incoming and outgoing addresses are subject to AML screening. Consolidation wallets are also regularly reviewed. Masons Exchange does not process sanctioned or knowingly unlawful funds.
11. Processing of Personal Data
Data obtained within KYC/AML verification procedures is used exclusively for compliance with legal requirements and internal compliance procedures.
— stored in secure form;
— accessible only to authorized personnel;
— used exclusively for AML/KYC checks and related procedures.
12. Compliance
Masons Exchange uses an internal compliance system to enhance transparency, accountability, and compliance with AML/KYC rules. Users’ understanding, cooperation, and good faith are an important part of protecting the platform, its clients, and the broader financial community from the threats of money laundering and other unlawful financial activity.
